  2. Nature Trail Walks - Blackwood Farm Park

    Enjoy a spring hike around this historic farm and Orange County park. The forest walk encircles the farm and provides remarkable scenic views of the rolling fields, large pond, and farmstead. Walk along a portion of the old roadbed that once linked Chapel Hill and Hillsborough. Time will also permit a tour of the historic Blackwood family farm building complex with interpretive signage and interesting photography. Spanish speakers join us on April 11; an interpreter will accompany us on the walk. About Hollow Rock Nature Park: Trail Distance: 1.5 miles ; Trail Difficulty: Easy, with uneven surfaces.   2. Turning Rituals Into Rewards | Main Library | Middle & High School & Adults

    The Kiwanis Club of Hillsborough, with the support of the Hillsborough Running Club and the Orange County Library will host this free event for students, parents, and anyone interested in the benefits of following positive daily rituals. Tom Carr, president of the local Kiwanis Club and vice president of the Hillsborough Running Club will present this fast-paced, informative and humorous program. Tom was a local educator for over thirty years in Orange County Schools and recently served on the Orange County School Board. He will share his personal story on how he has utilized daily rituals. A voracious reader, writer, and runner, Tom has kept daily journals of his activity for the last thirty-seven years. Tom will provide numerous tips to help adults and young people get off to a good start on their road to journaling success. At the end of the presentation participants will receive their own unique booklet.
