[ARCHIVED] Orange County announces closings for Memorial Day observance

Orange County Government will be closed on Monday,  May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. Please note the following service exceptions:

  • Animal Services will check the after-hours drop off. For Animal Control emergencies during this time, including potential rabies exposures or animal bites to humans, all 9-1-1 to be connected to our on-call Animal Control Officer.
  • Curbside recycling will be collected as usual. Please have carts out by 7 a.m. All other solid waste facilities – Landfill, Waste & Recycling Centers, Solid Waste Administration – will be closed.
  • Orange County Public Transportation will operate limited service serving the in-county dialysis route only (Carolina Dialysis). All other OCPT routes will not run on Monday. In order to provide two working days notice for scheduling, trip requests for Tuesday, May 28, must be received by 5 p.m. Thursday May 23. Trip requests for Wednesday, May 29,,must be received by 5 p.m., on Friday, May 24.

Emergency services will be available 24/7 by calling 9-1-1.
