Community Engagement
Library activity happens every day throughout Orange County. Members of the library's community engagement team attend meetings and events, serve on the boards local non-profits, and collaborate with government, business and school communities. What we learn from those interactions helps to inform our library's services, collections and programs.
As a library we are first and foremost focused on promoting literacy, providing free access to information and creating opportunities and spaces where people can gather to learn about and share ideas.
Organizations we work with include -
- Orange Literacy
- Orange County Partnership for Young Children
- El Centro Hispano
- Family Success Alliance
- Hillsborough Rotary Club
- ISLA (Immersion in Spanish Language Acquisition)
- Cedar Grove Community Center
- Efland-Cheeks Community Center
- Orange County Schools
- Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools
- The Expedition School
